Where Education Meets Imagination
Building bridges from the Bay to Uganda— We support play-based learning, teacher training, and early education access for girls. Transforming classrooms through excellence and play.
Giving girls access to early education and play based learning.
90% of girls 3-5 years old in Uganda never start school.
Of those who do, only 25% reach middle school.
Only 4% ever reach college.
Not because they can’t — but because they’re never given the chance.
We’re changing that — through education, play and community.
Our Community Programs
Sew What™With EVarize
Sew What was born from a community need—to give girls of color a safe space to create, learn, and build lasting friendships. They return as students, and many grow into mentors, carrying the legacy forward.”
Uganda Education Initiative
You have the power to impact the lives of girls in Uganda through your monthly giving. We foster holistic early education by encouraging a play-based learning approach that honors culture, community, and curiosity.
BayGanda Education Initiative
Nearly half of young women in Uganda (ages 15-24) face barriers to literacy, and four out of five girls do not have the opportunity to attend high school. We are empowering a new generation of leaders who are breaking barriers as the first in their families to not only complete their education but to pursue their dreams at the university level.
What We do
Since 2005, BayGanda has been a leader in Bay Area sewing camps, providing accessible summer programs and teaching the art of sewing. Starting in 2007, we expanded our mission to Bugolobi, Uganda, to empower young girls through creative and practical skills.
Today, after 20 years BayGanda continues to support girls in both the U.S. and Uganda, helping build a generation of empowered, enriched, and economically secure young women.
